Online mortgage broker Uno has appointed ideas agency Ugly to manage its brand advertising account.
The agency was appointed to the account following a four-way pitch. Uno’s incumbent agency Archibald Williams will continue to manage the brand’s content creation.
Uno, which launched in May 2016, enables customers to search, compare and settle a home loan on one digital platform. The site, which features 22 lenders including all four major banks, operates a ‘technology plus people’ model which enables customers to review home loan options online and with support from a team of advisors.
Kirsty Davison, chief marketing and strategy officer at Uno, said the appointment was due to, “Ugly’s approach of using creativity to solve ugly problems and their alignment with Uno’s mission to make getting the right home loan smarter and easier.”
“We are confident Ugly is the agency to drive our brand forward and to cement uno’s position as the leader in digital home loans in Australia,” said Davison.
Hazelle Klønhammer, co-founder and managing director at Ugly said: “It’s refreshing to work with such progressive clients who totally value creativity. Nothing is more gratifying than working with a new brand as it forges its future. Uno is set to shake up the home loans market. Watch this space!”
The appointment marks the first pitch win for Ugly, which was launched in April of this year by former Anomaly, TBWA and M&C Saatchi executives in a bid to provide a collaborative approach to the ad industry.
Ugly’s client list includes foundation client Satellite, Google, News Corp and Rip Curl – all of which was awarded to the agency without a pitch.
